POSITION TITLE:

Domestic Violence Advocate Coordinator

DEPARTMENT:

Victim Assistant Program - RRI

Job Overview:

The UMUT RRI Victim Support Services Advocate Coordinator will identify, assess and appropriately respond and advocate for the youth and adult survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking in rural communities.  Encourage collaboration among Tribal service providers;  law enforcement agencies; prosecutors; courts; other criminal justice service providers; human and community service provider;  education institutions; and health care providers, including sexual assault forensic examiners  Increase the safety and well-being of youth and adult survivor in rural community by dealing direction and immediately with sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking.  Creating and implementing strategies to increase awareness and apply prevention skills.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates Degree or Bachelor degree preferred in related field.
  • Successful completion and maintain of 40 hour advocacy certified training.
  • Grant management experience.
  • Able to pass a background check.
  • Valid Colorado driver license and insurable by Tribe.
  • CPR and First Aide certification or willing to obtain.
