Our mission is to enhance the quality of life, physical comfort, safety, transport, provide & support cultural/traditional services, communication, health, nutrition, and spiritual well-being in order to promote strong work ethics, personal independence, and a sense of Family, Culture and Community for the NUCHIU.

Public Works Program

The mission of the Public Works Program is to ensure a safe and healthy living environment for the Ute Mountain Ute Community (Towaoc and White Mesa). Public services will be provided in the most cost efficient and timely manner, while maintaining the highest quality and standards possible.

Planning & Development Department

The mission of the Planning & Development Department is to provide greater opportunities for the sustainability & for the well-being of the Nuchu together with community improvements & continuous life safety enhancements that will be in keeping with the highest traditions of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribal culture and generally improve the quality of life on the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation.

Information Service Program

The mission of the Information Service Program AKA: Echo Department is to serves both the Towaoc and White Mesa communities with local news, community information and special events coverage. The Echo Department also provides the Ute Mountain Tribe with the opportunity to express their freedom of speech.

Food Distribution Program

The mission of the Food Distribution Program is to........To motivate and educate people to lower their risk of type 2 diabetes and to improve the quality of life for Tribal Members with type 2 diabetes. We believe through education, motivation, and support people can learn to make positive lifestyle changes and prevent type 2 diabetes from developing.

The mission of the Transportation Service Program is to establish the responsibility and authority for the management of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe's motor vehicle fleet and/or equipment. To provide for the maintenance, utilization, new purchase and replacement of all Tribal vehicles and related equipment.
